Job summary

MaXentric Technologies LLC is seeking an experienced FPGA engineer to design and implement FPGA hardware for advanced RF/wireless systems and DSP platforms in a production setting.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in FPGA/RTL, VHDL/Verilog, and toolchains like ModelSim/QuestaSim and Vivado, plus strong collaboration and presentation skills. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required for this role and the San Diego, CA area. California-compliant PTO is provided along with health benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's, master's, or PhD in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 5+ years experience in FPGA/RTL design and verification.
• Experience with VHDL or Verilog and FPGA toolchains.
• Knowledge of DSP, RF/wireless, and DSP algorithms.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.

MaXentric Technologies LLC, a provider of wireless technology solutions, products, and services for commercial and military applications, has several full-time engineering positions open with the potential for growth, targeted for candidates with Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering. Positions are available at our San Diego office (La Jolla, CA). The ideal candidate will be someone with 5+ years of experience who solves problems and takes ownership of their work and retains a sense of urgency to meet project deadlines. We are looking for candidates with innovative and energetic personalities who are willing to explore new ideas and strong team players with excellent communication skills.

Primary Responsibilities:

Contribute to the design and development of FPGA hardware for advanced RF/wireless communications systems and digital signal processing (DSP) platforms.

Develop and implement design verification test plans

Maintain knowledge of current technical advancements in the general field of RF/microwave electronics and DSP algorithms by keeping up with current developments and trends in area of expertise.

Generate novel and unique solutions to technical challenges including, but not limited to DSP coding, communication system architecture, and advance transceiver design.

Required Skills:

VHDL or Verilog coding

IP verification and integration

Block-level as well as system-level design, simulation, and debugging

FPGA development software - mainly ModelSim/QuestaSim and Vivado.

Collaboration with DSP and software engineer to implement algorithms in FPGA

DSP/Digital lab skills with, but not limited to oscilloscope, multi-meter, spectrum analyzer, digitizer, arbitrary waveform generator, clock synthesizer, etc.

Ability to analyze and resolve highly complex technical problems efficiently and independently.

Proven capability to give meaningful presentations to design teams and customers that are professional and clearly convey information.

Desired Skill:

Embedded system programming

C and/or C++ programming

Signal processing and digital design in any of the following specialties: DSP algorithm, real-time digital pre-distortion, software-defined radio

Matlab and Simulink scripting

Scripting with Python and Linux shell programming, etc.

Demonstrate knowledge of wireless technology, digital/analog communications, or RF

The ideal candidate will be someone with 5+ years of experience who solves problems and takes ownership of their work and retains a sense of urgency to meet project deadlines. We are looking for candidates with innovative and energetic personalities who are willing to explore new ideas and strong team players with excellent communication skills. Accepting applications for Entry-level to Senior-level with 10+ years of experience.

NOTE: Due to the nature of our military work, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency is required for this position.

Good Faith Pay Range: $80,000 – $150,000 per year. This range represents the good faith estimate of the salary MaXentric reasonably expects to pay for this position upon hire. Final compensation will be based on the candidate's specific skills, experience, and geographic location.

Total Compensation: This role is eligible for Annual Performance Bonuses
