Job summary

North Atlantic Industries (NAI) seeks an Intern – Electrical Design Engineer for Summer 2027 in Bohemia, NY. You will support the design and development of complex digital electronic systems, gaining hands-on experience with FPGA design, digital hardware, simulation, and hardware/software integration.

The role includes schematic entry, VHDL test benches, FPGA simulation, and assisting with circuit testing and debugging under experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• Knowledge of digital circuit design fundamentals and VHDL.
• Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and analytical problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Person; U.S. citizenship or green card holder required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with schematic entry, VHDL test benches, FPGA simulation, and hardware/software integration.
• Support design of complex digital systems using FPGAs and embedded software.
• Assist with circuit testing and basic debugging under engineers.
• Participate in project reviews and technical discussions.
• Document engineering activities and complete assigned design-support tasks.
