North Atlantic Industries in Bohemia, NY, is offering an Intern – Electrical Engineer (Test Systems) position for Fall 2026. You will support development and implementation of electrical test solutions for NAI products, including cables and backplane assemblies, gaining hands-on experience integrating electrical testing, software, and mechanical fixturing.

The role emphasizes collaboration with engineering and production, documentation of test configurations and results, and exposure to DIT-MCO

Qualifications

Enrolled in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related engineering program.
Demonstrates a fundamental understanding of electrical circuits, wiring, connectors, and test principles.
Possesses basic programming or scripting knowledge applicable to test system development.
Demonstrates mechanical aptitude working with fixtures, drawings, and assemblies.
U.S. Person eligibility required for some positions.

Responsibilities

Assist in developing and implementing test systems for cables, backplanes, and related assemblies.
Support configuration and programming of DIT-MCO test equipment and software.
Assist in designing, building, and integrating mechanical fixtures and test hardware.
Perform electrical testing and troubleshooting to verify test system functionality.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve testing efficiency and reliability.
Document test configurations, fixture designs, procedures, software changes, and test results.
