Pratt & Whitney in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Digital Electrical Engineer I to design and develop CCAs and FPGA-based solutions powering mission-critical applications. You will work with FPGA architectures (AMD, Altera, Microchip), embed controllers, and processor interfaces in a cross-functional, Agile team.
You will contribute from concept to production release, maintain documentation, and support requirements through the full lifecycle in a hands-on hardware environment.

In this role as a Digital Electrical Engineer I, you will design and develop next-generation circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and FPGA-based solutions utilizing leading industry architectures including AMD, Altera, and Microchip. Your designs will power mission-critical applications across gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) digital signal processing, embedded controllers, and processor interfaces. Working in an agile, cross-functional environment alongside systems, mechanical, and software engineers, you will contribute across the full lifecycle - initial architectural concepts and algorithm modeling to hands-on hardware integration and production release. This is for our Tucson, AZ Location.
Develop and verify digital architecture, circuit card designs, and FPGA implementations targeting configurable logic devices. Model digital algorithms, partition design functions, and write high-reliability code for embedded processing systems. Perform component selection, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and collaborate on physical layout and routing. Integrate and validate hardware designs in a laboratory environment using advanced test instrumentation against rigorous system requirements. Maintain comprehensive design documentation, technical reports, and configuration management artifacts throughout the product lifecycle. Support engineering activities from initial customer requirement definition through formal production release.
Salary range: 57,200 USD - 108,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
