Job summary

Leidos in San Diego, CA is seeking an FPGA Engineer to contribute across architecture, design, and hardware testing for space and sensor systems.

You will work with Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ and RFSoC, develop HDL test benches, perform timing closure, and collaborate with a cross-functional R&D team to deliver high-tech solutions for national defense missions. US citizenship and ability to obtain TS clearance required; travel up to 20% may be necessary.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required with ability to obtain/maintain a Top Secret clearance
• BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; MS preferred for senior roles
• Experience across FPGA development lifecycle: architecture, design, HDL test benches
• Proficiency with Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ or RFSoC platforms and HDL skills such as VHDL/Verilog
• Fluent in Vivado, Modelsim or Riviera; familiar with lab equipment and testing
• Willingness for <20% travel and strong collaboration in multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Develop and test FPGA designs for space sensor systems
• Create DSP blocks for SoC implementations and integrate with ASIC/FPGA designs
• Synthesize, place and route, ensure timing closure for high-speed FPGAs
• Design and validate HDL test benches and verify functionality against models
• Prepare design documents, requirements, and interface control documents
