This role serves as the enterprise subject matter expert for FP&A systems and allocation methodologies, partnering closely with FP&A, Accounting, Actuarial, Treasury, Technology, and business finance leaders to ensure planning platforms and processes support timely, accurate, and actionable financial decision-making. The role requires specialized depth and breadth of expertise in financial planning systems, enterprise planning processes, expense allocation methodologies, data governance, and financial reporting.

The FP&A Systems Director leads complex cross-functional initiatives, develops best practices, influences senior stakeholders, and drives scalable solutions that improve forecasting, planning, reporting, allocation transparency, and finance technology enablement across the enterprise. This role operates independently, with guidance only in the most complex situations, and leads functional teams or projects with moderate complexity, risk, and enterprise impact, consistent with the P4 Specialist career level.

What You Will Do
  • Own the enterprise FP&A systems strategy and multi-year roadmap, including Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Financials integrations, reporting, dashboards, expense allocations, forecasting, and planning enablement capabilities.
  • Serve as the senior functional owner and subject matter expert for Workday Adaptive Planning, providing governance over system architecture, models, dimensions, reporting, security, data structures, release management, and user adoption to ensure scalable, controlled, and effective planning solutions.
  • Lead governance and oversight of enterprise expense allocation methodologies, allocation models, service agreement impacts, and related financial reporting, partnering with Accounting, Actuarial, Tax, FP&A, and business leaders to evaluate changes, ensure compliance, and support auditability.
  • Enable and continuously improve annual planning, forecasting, long-range planning, management reporting, KPI dashboards, scenario modeling, and financial analytics by leveraging technology, automation, and best practices to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee finance data management, integrations, and control frameworks across Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning, reporting tools, and related systems, ensuring data quality, reconciliation, governance, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Drive finance transformation initiatives by identifying and implementing opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting capabilities, expand automation, and leverage advanced planning, analytics, workflow, and AI-enabled technologies.
  • Partner with Finance, Technology, Treasury, Accounting, Actuarial, and business leaders to translate business requirements into system enhancements, influence adoption of governance standards and best practices, and provide expert consultation on planning systems, allocations, reporting, and financial performance management.
  • Lead and support cross-functional initiatives, system implementations, M&A activities, special projects, training, documentation, and governance programs while staying current on industry trends and emerging practices in FP&A systems, enterprise performance management, and financial technology.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business, Economics, or related field.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, FPAC, Workday Adaptive Planning certification, Workday Financials experience, or other finance systems / EPM-related certification preferred.
  • 8 to 12 years of experience in FP&A, financial planning systems, enterprise performance management, finance transformation, accounting, financial reporting, or related finance technology roles.
  • Demonstrated experience with Workday Adaptive Planning, Workday Financials, or comparable EPM / ERP planning platforms.
  • Experience leading complex cross-functional projects, system enhancements, planning process improvements, reporting transformations, or finance technology implementations.
  • Experience developing or governing financial models, planning structures, allocation methodologies, dimensions, dashboards, management reports, and planning process controls.
  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and leading others through complex business, financial, process, or systems issues without relying on direct reporting authority.
  • Financial services or insurance industry experience preferred.
