Job summary

United Utility Services in Charlotte, NC seeks an FP&A Systems and Data Analyst to lead Power BI development, financial data modeling, and planning-system improvements. You will build dashboards, datasets, and repeatable reporting processes for the FP&A group and Finance department.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment. In-office Monday-Thursday with a remote option on Friday; construction/utility experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a relevant field.
• Advanced Power BI capabilities (DAX, Power Query/M, dataflows).
• 2–6 years in BI, FP&A, or financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to automate processes and scale reporting.
• Analytical, detail-oriented with strong communication.
• SQL or relational DB experience.
• ERP experience (Sage 300) and financial reporting tools preferred.
• Ability to analyze large datasets and present findings clearly.
• Strong organization and multi-priority management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in construction/infrastructure/utilities/ EPC preferred.
• Experience supporting multi-entity or PE-backed organizations a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as Power BI resource for revenue, margin, SG&A, and KPIs.
• Develop and maintain financial data models, DAX measures, and queries.
• Create reusable datasets and self-service reporting layers.
• Design data structures to support forecasts and planning.
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies and refresh errors.
• Automate reporting steps with Power Query and dataflows.
• Improve data quality and metric alignment across FP&A processes.
• Support AI-enabled insights for timely info and predictive capabilities.
• Provide analytical support to FP&A and Finance teams.
• Prepare variance analysis and translate data into insights.
