Job summary

Champion Petfoods is hiring a Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for a 12‑month contract. The role supports the VP FP&A in budgeting, latest estimates, and long‑term growth planning.

You will prepare financial analysis, KPI reporting, and provide actionable insights to drive performance. Based in a hybrid corporate office with locations in Edmonton (AB) or Nashville (TN) or Louisville (CO), you will collaborate with IT and accounting, lead FP&A initiatives, and mentor junior staff while

Qualifications

• Post‑secondary degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• CPA designation preferred.
• Minimum five years’ experience in a finance role.
• Minimum two years’ experience within the consumer‑packaged goods industry preferred.
• Very strong financial writing skills.
• Experience with ERP systems, including reporting tools.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
• Excellent project managerial and interpersonal skills.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to develop and sustain successful internal and external working relationships.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests.
• Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Corporate Reporting and KPI monitoring.
• Prepare monthly financial and operational KPI reporting and management packages.
• Report and analyze financial statements and corporate results, including costs and revenues.
• Partner with accounting to enhance ERP data capture and FP&A reporting.
• Coordinate with IT to develop reporting needs and tools.
• Provide ad hoc analyses and scenario planning.
• Coordinate regional reporting with global regions.
• Manage the detailed annual budget and long‑term strategic growth plan.
• Oversee budgeting software and ensure adherence to parent guidelines.
• Support FP&A/Treasury as primary corporate contact for parent inquiries.
• Identify risks and opportunities affecting financial performance.
• Mentor and develop junior staff as required.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.
