Fennemore is seeking an FP&A Manager in Phoenix, AZ, a hybrid role focused on modernizing the Finance function through automation, AI, and systems integration. You will partner with the Director of Accounting & Finance and CFO to drive budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, and KPI reporting across the firm.

The ideal candidate has 6–10+ years in FP&A or related fields, strong financial modeling, and experience with AI and BI tools.

Responsabilidades

  • Identify and improve manual, repetitive, or inefficient Finance processes.
  • Lead Finance projects from concept through implementation and adoption.
  • Develop scalable, repeatable workflows using automation, AI, SQL, Python, Power BI, and other technologies.
  • Connect data and systems to improve reporting, accessibility, and efficiency.
  • Evaluate opportunities to use AI-enabled tools and agents to automate recurring Finance activities.
  • Modernize and automate financial and operational KPI reporting.
  • Build scalable reporting solutions that reduce manual data extraction, Excel manipulation, and recurring administrative work.
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations that make financial information easier for Finance, attorneys, and leadership to access and understand.
  • Establish reliable processes for data refreshes, calculations, integrations, and reporting.
  • Oversee and continuously improve the firm's budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Strengthen financial models and reporting to support growth and strategic decision-making.
  • Help transition Finance from manual data preparation toward more automated, analytical, and value-added work.
  • Partner with Finance and other stakeholders to improve planning, reporting, and forecasting processes.
  • Support the CFO and Finance leadership with financial analysis, profitability reporting, KPIs, and decision support.
  • Analyze matter and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and financial drivers.
  • Support legal pricing, budgeting, realization, utilization, staffing, and profitability analysis.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of technology, AI, and evolving legal service delivery models.
  • Lead cross-functional Finance initiatives and coordinate stakeholders through implementation.
  • Partner closely with Finance, IT, attorneys, and operational leaders to identify opportunities and develop practical solutions.
  • Mentor and develop Finance team members as the role evolves.
  • Help build a more technology-enabled, analytical, and scalable Finance function.

Position Overview

Fennemore is seeking a forward-thinking, hands-on FP&A Manager to help modernize the firm's Finance function.

This role will focus on automation, AI, systems integration, process improvement, financial reporting, and scalable FP&A processes. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys identifying manual or inefficient workflows, connecting data and systems, building repeatable solutions, and turning new technology into practical business improvements.

You will work closely with the Director of Accounting & Finance and CFO, as well as Finance, IT, attorneys, and operational leaders. The role will also support budgeting, forecasting, KPI reporting, profitability analysis, and financial decision-making across the firm.

As the role and team evolve, the position is expected to assume additional responsibility for managing and mentoring members of the Finance team.

What You'll Do
Finance Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify and improve manual, repetitive, or inefficient Finance processes.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • 6–10+ years of experience in FP&A, finance, analytics, operational finance, process improvement, or related fields.
  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience improving or building financial processes, reporting, workflows, or systems.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex data.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives through implementation.
  • Experience with AI, automation, business intelligence, or systems integration.
  • Experience with Power BI, SQL, Python, Power Query, Power Automate, Tableau, or similar tools.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and complex data environments.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, profitability analysis, KPI reporting, or financial decision support.
  • Experience in professional services, SaaS, legal, or other project-based environments.
  • Experience managing or mentoring employees.
