CITGO Petroleum Corporation is seeking an experienced FP&A Lead Manager to drive planning, budgeting, and strategic financial analysis across business units in a fast-paced environment. • Industry-specific knowledge: crack spreads, crude differentials, commodity price risk
• ETRM software experience preferred

Job Summary

• As a FP&A Lead Manager, your performance and contribution will achieve the following goals and objectives:
• Lead and manage several sub-groups within FP&A.
• Managing planning, budgeting, management reporting, and variance analysis processes
• Provide business support decision analysis for applicable business units
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual FP&A processes, including management reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario planning
• Understand key revenue drivers and translate them into actionable recommendations*
• Mentorship: Your skills will help develop the analysts of the future, advising best practices and advancement of skills.
• Manage the FP&A team's analytical capability and bench strength through direction, mentorship, and cross-training, and cultivate strong working relationships across Treasury, Accounting, Operations, and business units to ensure alignment on financial priorities. Manage ad hoc analyses and special projects to support evolving business needs and growth
• Ensure key financial models are in place for efficient and accurate reporting
• Collaborate proactively across business functions to deliver high-quality results
• Translate operational activities into financial impacts and recommendations to executive leadership including CEO, COO, and CFO
• Provides direction and leadership to employees. Coordinates employee development planning and intra-departmental coverage.
• Serve as a strategic partner and primary point of contact to Accounting, Operations, and business unit leaders, ensuring forecasts and plans reflect a consistent, enterprise-wide view.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree
• 8 years job related experience
• ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and EPM/FP&A platforms (Oracle Planning & Budgeting Cloud Service)
• Ability to translate operational drivers into financial impact and vice versa
• Industry-specific knowledge. Understanding crack spreads, crude differentials, commodity price risk, and how those cascade through margins
• Proficiency/prior experience with energy trading and risk management (ETRM) software platform preferred
• Background in a quantitative discipline, such as finance, economics, math, or engineering.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; seeks big picture answers beyond immediate scope
• Fundamental knowledge of accounting and financial processes and reporting. Knowledge of SAP preferred
• Experience managing & taking ownership of financial models
• Experience with dashboards or model delivery (ex. Power BI) preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in an extremely complex, dynamic and fast-paced team environment
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Job Duties

Business decision support:

Work with various areas of the business to provide high quality advice on financial impacts through exceptional analytical and financial modeling skills.

Planning & forecasting:

Lead the annual budgeting process and manage the development of financial forecasts. Responsible for tracking CITGO's financial performance against a plan, analyzing business performance and market conditions to create forecasts, and help senior management make tactical and strategic decisions by providing periodic reports. Conduct financial statement and general ledger analysis, including variance to forecast and prior year.

Management reporting:

Provide regular updates on performance against Budget & Plan, identifying key variances and opportunities for improvement. Coordinate input from the department to develop weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports for presentation to Management. Drive the use of technology to automate data and/or work processes to generate efficiency.

Business analytics:

Apply advanced analytical techniques to perform and coordinate complete analysis of a broad spectrum of business problems. Use key relationships, and knowledge of business strategy, trends and key events to identify new opportunities to improve business analytics, and performance management tools. Provide support and guidance to senior and executive management including CEO, COO, and CFO regarding financial and economic decisions. Create meaningful dashboards where appropriate.

Financial modeling:

Develop the actual model structure, testing process and implementation of the financial model, and determine the best model delivery (i.e., using Power BI or MS Excel, etc.). Understanding how the financial models contribute to CITGO's EBITDA. Also, create the documentation for implementation of the models and the procedures on how to maintain the financial models.

Leadership:

Mentor direct reports helping to develop best practices, innovation and creativity in the next level of analysts Also to facilitate cross-training within all areas of FPA.

Special projects:

Oversee the design, preparation, and review of ongoing and ad hoc management reports. Lead other initiatives and special projects as directed by the Senior and Executive Management team such as software implementations and system design changes.
