Job summary

Financial & Business Advisory Firm is seeking a Director of FP&A Advisory to lead forecasting, budgeting, and client-facing engagements with life sciences and biotech clients in a hybrid San Diego setting.

You will build robust models, participate in board reporting, and partner with senior leaders to drive strategic decisions. The role offers discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of FP&A, strategic finance, or advisory experience.
• Prior client-facing consulting or professional services experience.
• Strong financial modeling and forecasting skills; able to partner with executives.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for biotech and life sciences clients.

Overview

Join a growing advisory firm focused on supporting life sciences and biotech companies through critical stages of growth. This is a client-facing role partnering directly with CFOs, CEOs, founders, and investors to drive forecasting, financial planning, board reporting, cash management, and strategic decision-making across multiple client engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning for biotech and life sciences clients
• Build and maintain financial models, cash runway analyses, and scenario planning tools
• Provide board reporting, KPI analysis, and executive decision support
• Partner directly with CFOs and leadership teams on strategic finance initiatives
• Support fundraising activities, business planning, and growth strategies
• Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously in a consulting environment

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of FP&A, strategic finance, or advisory experience
• Prior client-facing consulting or professional services experience
• Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and business partnering skills
• Experience working with executive leadership teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Life sciences or biotech industry experience
• Big 4 accounting or consulting background
• CPA, CFA, or MBA
• Experience supporting venture-backed or high-growth companies
