Job summary

The AES Corporation in Salt Lake City seeks an FP&A Associate to provide holistic financial management of a portfolio of thermal and renewable power plants, including monthly performance reviews and forecasting.

Requirements include 5+ years in budgeting/forecasting, GAAP knowledge, experience with SAP/BPC/Anaplan, and a Bachelor's in finance or accounting. Salary ranges from $105,000 to $131,325 per year with a discretionary annual bonus; AES is an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

The FP&A Associate will provide wholistic financial management of a portfolio of ~1GW of thermal and Utility scale renewable power plants in operations.

• Wholistic financial management includes monthly performance review, monthly forecasting of EBITDA and earnings, annual budgeting, identifying financial risk and opportunities, working with asset management and operations leaders to optimize financial performance
• Support lender and tax equity relationship and reporting

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in preparing and coordinating budgets, forecasts, and related reporting.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) including experience with financial reporting, forecasting and analysis across the income statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows.
• Ability to work effectively with accounting systems, SAP, BPC, Anaplan or similar
• Experience building 3 statement financial models from scratch.
• Has experience with financial oversight for renewable power plant s or thermal power plant. Coal power plant experience is a plus
• Fluent in English (required); proficiency in Spanish is a plus

Education

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, or a relevant field

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $105,000 and $131,325/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
