Job summary

Salary Range: T01 – T06 Department: Curriculum and Instruction Reports To: Building Principal Shift Type: Full-Time FLSA Status: Exempt

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Instructional Delivery
    • Develop and deliver lesson plans that meet state and district standards, ensuring all students are actively engaged in learning.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technology tools to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs.
    • Continuously assess student understanding and adjust teaching methods to improve outcomes.
    • Collaborate with instructional coaches, department chairs, and fellow teachers to enhance curriculum alignment and instructional practices.
  • Student Assessment and Progress Monitoring
    • Regularly assess and analyze student performance through formative and summative assessments.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive student records, including grades, attendance, and progress reports.
    • Use data to drive instructional decisions and provide targeted interventions.
    • Work with various stakeholders to ensure students’ individual needs are met.
  • Classroom Management and Student Engagement
    • Establish a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel respected and motivated to succeed.
    • Manage, supervise and ensure the safety, behavior, and well-being of students.
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies to minimize disruptions and maximize learning time.
    • Foster students’ social-emotional development by integrating trauma-informed practices and restorative justice approaches.
    • Collaborate with parents, guardians, and necessary stakeholders to address behavior concerns and support student growth.
  • Professional Development and School Collaboration
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve your craft and stay up to date on educational best practices.
    • Contribute to schoolwide initiatives and collaborate with school staff on projects that support student achievement.
    • Attend faculty meetings, workshops, family engagement events and parent-teacher conferences as required.
    • Serve on school committees and contribute to creating a positive school climate.
To Be Successful at This Job, You’ll Need to: (Minimum Requirements)
  • Bring Expertise and Vision:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field
    • Valid Missouri teaching certificate or eligibility for certification
    • Strong understanding of curriculum, instructional strategies, and classroom management
    • Experience with or commitment to working in diverse, urban school environments
