Position Description

Columbus Academy seeks candidates for an opening as a full‑time Fourth Grade Teacher.

The selected candidate will:

• Manage classroom activities for approximately 18 students, including primary instructional responsibilities in language arts, mathematics and social studies.
• Collaborate with colleagues, particularly team members, on curriculum design and development.
• Provide periodic updates to parents regarding student progress through written reports and in‑person conferences.
• Use technological resources for curriculum integration and institutional communication.
• Hold students accountable for the school's behavioral standards.
• Work with the school community to support each student's emotional well‑being.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in elementary education or a related field.
• At least three years of experience as a lead teacher at the elementary level.
• Knowledge of varied pedagogy and trends in elementary instruction and curriculum design.
• Ability to teach a full range of elementary subjects and differentiate instruction.
• Promotes a classroom environment that is engaging for children, conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction, and maximizes student learning.

Physical Conditions

• Ability to be outside with children during all seasons, utilizing the extensive campus.
