Job Summary

Operate and perform production machine set-ups & maintenance of four/multi-slides machines. Responsible for quality and quantity of own work.

Reporting To

Production Manager

Essential Job Functions
  1. Set up and operate fourslide, multi-progression operations to produce micro precision metal parts from various metals and alloys.
  2. Select, install, and align dies, cutting tools, guides, and stops to set up the machine, using hand tools and measuring instruments.
  3. Position coil of metal wire or rod on feed spindle and thread it through straightening rolls into feed mechanism.
  4. Perform first piece and in-process inspection of parts to maintain tolerance limits and quality.
  5. Identify root causes of machine failure and provide service to restore machine to operational standard.
  6. Collaborate with team members to resolve quality issues.
  7. Load and unload parts from chuck, collets, vises, and fixtures where applicable.
  8. Clean and perform preventative maintenance on machines daily.
  9. Develop, revise, and update machine maintenance logs and schedules to meet production and quality requirements.
  10. Complete necessary production paperwork.
  11. Maintain a clean and safe working environment, following all safety regulations and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to move objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Mechanical inclination and understanding of wire form machining.
  • Knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, plug gauges, and indicators.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma, GED, or vocational certificate.
  • 5-10 years of experience in automated production machine setup, maintenance, and repair, preferably on fourslide machines.
