Job summary

Pentair plc is hiring a Foundry Production Technician for the Ashland, OH site on first shift. You will operate furnaces, castings, and supporting equipment to produce high-quality iron parts for pumps, with heavy manual labor and safety as a priority.

The role requires experience with heavy machinery, hoists, and a tolerance for extreme heat and noise. Training offered on first shift, with potential overtime and additional shift opportunities.

Qualifications

• Overhead crane or hoist capability for charging furnaces and moving ladles.
• Mechanical aptitude with grinders, power tools, and basic equipment.
• Previous machine operation experience in a production setting preferred.
• Ability to work in extreme heat, noise, dust, and fast-paced production.
• Heavy manual labor including lifting up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Operate production machines and use grinders and hand tools.
• Knock out molds with a sledgehammer and remove finished castings.
• Support iron preparation for production lines; manage furnaces and ladles.
• Add minerals/additives to the furnace, monitor chemistry and temps.
• Remove slag, tap iron from furnaces, and maintain spouts as needed.
• Transport supplies and additives with hoist/forklift; ensure safe deck operations.
