Job summary

Wabash Castings is seeking a Foundry Production Laborer on 1st shift. Starting pay is $19.50/hour. You’ll learn multiple casting processes and rotate through tasks in a busy foundry, making metal parts used nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Learn several jobs and rotate between them.
• Make sand cores and run machines that form sand into cores.
• Build and clean up cores; glue and coat them; remove excess sand.
• Care for equipment; clean and blow out core boxes; assist with minor fixes.
• Finish metal parts; smooth and clean castings after molding.
• Run blast and test equipment; load parts into shot blast machines.
• Check for quality; inspect parts and complete simple paperwork.
• Work safely; wear safety gear daily and lift up to 50 lbs.

You’ll run machines that form sand into cores. Cores shape the inside of our metal parts, so getting them right matters.Build and clean up cores. You’ll put core pieces together, glue and coat them, and clean off extra sand so they’re ready to use.Take care of the equipment. You’ll clean and blow out core boxes with air wands and help fix small problems when they come up.Finish metal parts. You’ll use hand tools to smooth and clean up castings after they come out of the mold.Run blast and test equipment. You’ll load parts into shot blast machines and testing equipment to make sure every part is strong and clean.Check for quality. You’ll look over parts before they move on and fill out simple paperwork to track your work.Work safely. You’ll wear safety gear every day and follow our safety rules.
