Job summary

Doncasters is seeking a Foundry Operator in Groton, CT to join our production team. The role involves melting and pouring alloys into shell molds, and handling loading and unloading of ovens and furnaces.

You will operate vacuum furnaces and air-melt systems, weigh materials for accuracy, enter data, and uphold casting procedures to ensure quality, safety and efficiency on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Experience with CMM programming and troubleshooting preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Melt and pour alloys into shell molds following work instructions and technique cards.
• Load and unload pre-fire ovens, molds and furnace ovens.
• Operate vacuum furnaces and air-melt systems.
• Mark up and weigh materials for accuracy.
• Manage electronic and paper data entry and operate lifting equipment safely.
• Uphold strict casting procedures to maintain quality, efficiency and safety.
