Job summary

Wabtec is hiring a Foundry Operator in Salem, VA. You will operate manufacturing equipment, monitor product quality, and help produce consistent results in a fast-paced production environment.

This role offers pay between $16.50 and $18.50 per hour plus a $500 sign-on bonus. Schedule is Monday through Thursday, 4:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and handle physical requirements.
  • Attention to safety procedures and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Produce molds as part of the foundry production process.
  • Follow work instructions, including sub-assembly, soldering, testing and packaging as required.
  • Follow applicable ISO procedures.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Report equipment malfunctions and process deviations to the appropriate personnel.

Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Capabilities
  • Frequent standing, walking, sitting, handling, reaching outward, lifting 10lbs or less. Frequent exposure to dust or vapors within OSHA limits.
  • Occasional reaching up/over shoulder, bending, lifting up to 20lbs., exposure to heat/humidity.
Job Duties
  • Responsible for various portions of the foundry production process, including but not limited to the production of molds.
