Job summary

Mueller Water Products, Inc. seeks a 2nd shift Foundry Mechanic for our new Decatur, IL foundry. You will install, repair, and rebuild foundry machinery, handling equipment, and building systems on a 40-hour weekly schedule.

4 years of verifiable maintenance experience and the ability to read blueprints are required. Responsibilities include relining furnaces, operating machine tools, fabricating parts, and performing welding and boiler repairs.

Qualifications

• 4 years verifiable maintenance experience or schooling equivalent.
• Read, interpret blueprints and diagrams; work from layouts.
• Set up and operate various machine tools.
• Perform welding and cutting as required.
• Install and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform plumbing and boiler repairs as needed.
• Maintain safety and PPE compliance.

Foundry Mechanic

Mueller Water Products seeks a 2nd shift Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our brand new state of the art foundry in Decatur, IL. The work consists of installation, repair, removal and rebuilding of all Foundry machinery, equipment, material handling equipment, as well as repairs to building and grounds.

Applicants must have 4 years verifiable maintenance experience and/or schooling equivalent.

Some of the tasks performed include:

• Reline furnaces as required
• Read, interpret and work from blueprints, layouts, hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams. Make sketches and rough blueprints as required.
• Skillfully set up and operate a variety of machine tools used in the performance of their duties.
• Make repair parts as required in the performance of their duties.
• Layout, set up, and perform all acetylene or electric welding and cutting operations as required.
• Install repair, maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform plumbing and boiler repairs as needed.

Required skills:

• Professional manner maintaining the highest standards of productivity and quality.
• Abide by safety guidelines and wear PPE as instructed.
• Team player.
• Ability to sit, stand, twist, turn, lift and perform all duties as required of the job.
• Available for the mandatory overtime

Salary/Pay Range:

$15.00-$32.50

The compensation range above reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment as of the date of posting. Individual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the role, professional experience, job-related skills, achievements, and/or work location. The range listed is only one component of the total compensation package offered to candidates.
