Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. Carson City is seeking a Manufacturing Technician to support aerospace casting operations across Foundry, Investment Casting, and Heat Treat.

You will assist with material movement, equipment operation, and quality verification while following work instructions and safety standards. The role offers exposure to multiple processes, on-site, with a Monday–Friday swing shift from 2:30pm to 11pm, and opportunities to develop practical skills in high-precision manufacturing

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, foundry, heat treat, or aerospace environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, routers, and production documentation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform production activities per work instructions, specs, and quality requirements.
  • Support production operations within Foundry, Investment Casting, and Heat Treat departments as assigned.
  • Operate department-specific equipment and tools following procedures and training.
  • Load, unload, move, stage, and transport materials, tooling, and products.
  • Monitor production processes and escalate issues to supervision.
  • Maintain lot traceability and product identification throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform basic visual inspections and quality verification activities.
  • Complete production documentation, records, and system transactions accurately.
  • Support quality initiatives and comply with customer and company requirements.

PURPOSE

The Manufacturing Technician supports PCC Carson City's aerospace manufacturing operations by performing production activities within Foundry, Investment Casting, and Heat Treat operations. This role supports the production of precision aerospace castings by assisting with material movement, equipment operation, process execution, product handling, and quality verification activities.

The Manufacturing Technician develops knowledge across multiple manufacturing processes and serves as a versatile production resource capable of supporting various operational needs while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards. This position offers the opportunity to gain experience in several critical manufacturing processes that support the production of aerospace components.

M-F Swing Shift - 2:30pm - 11pm

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Production Operations
  • Perform manufacturing and production activities in accordance with established work instructions, process specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Support production operations within Foundry, Investment Casting, and Heat Treat departments as assigned.
  • Operate department-specific equipment and tools following established procedures and training requirements.
  • Load, unload, move, stage, and transport materials, tooling, and products throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Monitor production processes and notify supervision of unusual conditions, equipment concerns, or quality issues.
Product Handling & Quality
  • Maintain lot traceability and product identification throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform basic visual inspections and quality verification activities.
  • Follow established product handling requirements to prevent damage and maintain product integrity.
  • Complete production documentation, records, and system transactions accurately.
  • Support quality initiatives and comply with customer and company requirements.
Equipment & Process Support
  • Perform routine equipment checks and basic preventative maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Assist with equipment setups, changeovers, and production preparation activities.
  • Maintain tooling, fixtures, and work areas in clean and organized condition.
  • Support continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.
Safety & Housekeeping
  • Follow all plant and department safety procedures.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain work areas in accordance with 6S standards.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, hazards, or equipment issues.
  • Participate in safety training and compliance activities.
Team Support
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members.
  • Support departmental productivity, throughput, and delivery objectives.
  • Adapt to changing production priorities and operational needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support business objectives.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, pull, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 35 pounds independently; heavier items require assistance or lifting devices.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing environments with exposure to heat, dust, noise, moving equipment, and varying production conditions.
  • Ability to wear required PPE and safely perform assigned job duties.
  • Ability to work around furnaces, casting equipment, industrial machinery, and material handling equipment.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience in manufacturing, industrial, foundry, heat treat, or aerospace environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn multiple manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, routers, and production documentation.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified preferred.
