Armstrong Mold Corporation in East Syracuse, NY is seeking a Foundry Finisher on first shift to prepare aluminum parts by removing flashing and excess metal from raw castings. The role requires manual dexterity and attention to detail, using grinders, grit blaster and hand tools per customer standards.

Responsibilities include inspecting castings, documenting reports, and adhering to safety policies while meeting quality and production goals.

• Ability to read job travelers/job specification.
• Strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Grinds and files castings to remove flash, burrs and excess metal using a wide variety of equipment such as hand held grinder, grit blaster and air and hand tools per customer finishing standards.
• Complies with job traveler instructions and any required reporting and routes to next operation as necessary.
• Works efficiently and verifies counts of parts completed.
• Determines need for weld repairs and grinds weld
• Visually inspects castings and blends as necessary
• Uses go no go gauges on specified parts
• Completes and/or maintains required reports and records
• Meets quality and quantity standards for the position
• Adheres to all safety policies and practices, consistently uses personal protective equipment, and practices good housekeeping.
• Maintains regular on time attendance and adheres to company policies, procedures, and standards of conduct.
• Performs other tasks as directed.

Armstrong has an opening for a Foundry Finisher on first shift. Armstrong Rapid Manufacturing has been in business for over 50 years in the East Syracuse NY area. Armstrong specializes in both prototyped and low volume production machined castings. The Salary Range for our Foundry Finisher job is $17.00-$20.00 per hour. Refer to the job description below:

Summary/Objective

Educational, Experience Based, and Skill Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent with manual dexterity. 6 months' experience in a surface finishing function preferable.
• Ability to read job travelers/job specification.
• Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit for extended time periods, reach and grasp parts/hand tools and lift up to and including 35 pounds as needed.
