Job summary

J&T Business Consulting is seeking a Foundry Engineering Manager in Spokane, WA. The role focuses on reducing scrap, improving casting quality, and increasing throughput across molding, melting, and finishing.

You will lead the pattern shop and foundry engineering, providing technical recommendations to department managers and senior leadership. This is a technical role centered on root-cause problem solving and process improvement, not a QMS administration position.

Qualifications

• BS in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of foundry engineering experience with hands-on white iron/steel casting.
• Experience with pattern and method design (gating, risering, solidification).
• Strong, metrics-driven root-cause problem solving with scrap reduction.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary technical problem solver across molding, melting, finishing to drive throughput and quality.
• Review scrap and rework to identify root causes and reduce scrap.
• Collaborate with molding and melting managers to improve casting quality and reduce finishing needs.
• Drive pattern and method design to improve yield and reduce finishing requirements.
• Identify critical control points and implement corrective actions.
