Job summary

Sela, the leading AI voice agent for mortgage lenders, is seeking a Founding Strategic Finance lead in San Francisco. You will shape the company’s financial model, pricing for enterprise deals, and board-ready narratives, reporting directly to the CEO.

You will own planning, pricing, and finance infrastructure, partnering with sales, legal, and external advisors to scale revenue. This is a rare high-ownership role at a fast-growing startup.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in startup finance, or 3+ years total experience with a strong FP&A background.
• Hands-on experience with core P&L work, AE models, and commission plans.
• Structured thinking and strong judgment for breaking down messy questions and delivering recommendations.
• A clear, effective communicator who can work with founders, sales, legal, and vendors, and present to a board.
• High ownership and initiative; comfortable operating without a fully developed playbook.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment where the product, market, and business are evolving quickly.

Responsibilities

• Plan and model the operating model: revenue, gross margin, cost structure, headcount, and cash.
• Model core revenue drivers: customer-level usage trends, net revenue retention, upsell and cross-sell.
• Design pricing and deal structures for large mortgage lenders and partner with sales on enterprise negotiations.
• Build the sales capacity model and design commission plans for the first AE team.
• Own the board deck and financial narrative to investors and help lead future raise.
• Build quote-to-cash from contract to invoice to collections and oversee finance systems selection.
