Job summary

Google is seeking a Founding Staff Software Engineer for the Agentic Data Warehouse (aDWH). You will pioneer an AI-native data warehousing platform, bridging autonomous AI agents with Google's planet-scale production data infrastructure and ensuring high-quality, hallucination-free data assets.

You will co-develop a spec-driven architecture translating natural-language goals into structured configurations, contributing to features and validation for aDWH in a highly collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in C++.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Responsibilities

• Explore and prototype AI-native methods, including spec-driven data development, semantic specification models, and agentic spec-to-config compilation.
• Contribute technical proposals, including novel product features, neuro-symbolic methodologies, and practical execution paths.
• Deliver detailed system design, production coding, and validation for the Agentic Data Warehouse Platform.
• Maintain code quality through thorough design and code reviews for production code and agent skills.
• Collaborate with engineers across storage, query, and pipeline components to integrate aDWH and prioritize feature requests.

• 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
• Experience building agentic workflows, coding and data agents, structured agent skills, and evaluation harnesses.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $207000 - $300000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
