Job summary

Jack is a founding-stage legal AI startup building a conversational AI intake receptionist that routes clients to the right attorney. The first engineer will join the Founder, turning a prototype into a reliable production-grade platform with strong ownership over architecture, security, and deployment.

The role offers substantial influence over product direction, integration with law firms, and a path to shaping a growing engineering team.

Qualifications

4+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Hands-on AI product development experience.
Experience taking an early product to production.
Strong ownership of production reliability, security, and/or privacy.
Full-stack capability with end-to-end ownership.
Experience building customer-facing software.
Comfortable working directly with customers or partners.
Based in the Bay Area or willing to relocate.
Willing to work in San Francisco in-person 4 days a week.

Responsibilities

Transition the AI product from prototype to production-grade.
Own the voice AI intake across live calls and web intake.
Build the full-stack referral platform connecting attorneys, partner firms, and clients.
Design systems that safely handle sensitive client information and funds.
Own privacy, security, reliability, and production infrastructure.
Collaborate with partner firms to implement and integrate the product.
Integrate with phone systems, call routing, telephony, and IVR environments.
Build new product workflows based on feedback from firms and users.
Shape technical strategy as the first engineering hire.
