Job summary

Corriculo Recruitment is seeking a Founding Software Engineer in Los Angeles to own and shape the core software stack for an early-stage manufacturing tech company. You will work autonomously, delivering end-to-end across a custom OS, simulation/AI layer, and factory automation software.

Ideal candidates combine TypeScript frontend experience with Python (or Go) backend skills, and relish an ambiguous, high-ownership environment with direct exposure to strategic decisions from day one.

A Founding Software Engineer opportunity has opened up at an early-stage company operating at the crossroads of advanced manufacturing and cutting-edge software. Could this be the role where your engineering work has real, tangible impact on the physical world?

The Role

The Founding Software Engineer will work as an individual contributor with genuine autonomy, helping to shape and build the core software infrastructure that runs an advanced manufacturing operation. You will identify what matters most, set your own direction against high-level goals, and ship end-to-end.

You will contribute across three key areas: a custom operating system; a simulation and AI layer; and factory automation software. You will collaborate closely with world-class hardware and automation engineers in a fast-moving, early-stage environment where speed and ownership are everything.

The Company

This is a seed-stage company based in Los Angeles working to industrialise advanced composite materials. The business is well-funded and growing rapidly, with a small, ambitious team. The software function reports directly to the CEO, giving engineers close proximity to strategic decisions from day one. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to join the team.

The role is based fully onsite from Los Angeles.

What experience does the Founding Software Engineer need?

• Strong full-stack engineering capability with hands‑on production experience, ideally using TypeScript on the frontend and Python or Go on the backend
• The ability to work independently and deliver against high-level goals without relying on dedicated product management or QA support
• Comfortable with ambiguity and early-stage environments, whether you are a senior engineer with domain knowledge or earlier-career with exceptional potential
• An interest in how software systems interact with the physical world; experience in manufacturing software, simulation, applied AI, or data engineering is a meaningful advantage
