Job summary

Forus, a New York-based company, is seeking a Founding Security Engineer to safeguard sensitive healthcare data and build the security foundation as we scale.

You will own cloud/infrastructure security across AWS/GCP, integrate security into the product, and shape incident response with audit trails. This is a high-autonomy, high-responsibility role at the forefront of healthcare AI security.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security engineering for software systems.
• Hands-on cloud security across AWS and/or GCP with IaC experience.
• Experience protecting sensitive data at scale (PHI/HIPAA is a plus).
• Comfort designing security for LLMs and AI agents.

Responsibilities

• Own cloud and infrastructure security (AWS, GCP) and guardrails.
• Lead secure design and code reviews; strengthen authentication/authorization.
• Implement detection, logging, and incident response with audit trails.
