Job summary

Wintermeyer Ventures is looking for its first dedicated security engineer to help secure cloud infrastructure and customer products. You will build systems enabling engineering teams to run apps securely in their own cloud environments and write production Go code to strengthen Kubernetes clusters.

You will establish the secure engineering function, ship customer-facing security features, and work with customer security teams to meet stringent security standards across IAM, logging, and network

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• 4+ years of infrastructure or platform engineering experience, preferably at a venture-backed startup.
• Production Go software engineering experience.
• Hands-on security experience across Kubernetes and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Deep knowledge of IAM, security logging, secrets, network security, and CI/CD.

About the Role

Join a cloud infrastructure company as its first dedicated security engineer, working across internal security and customer-facing product security. You will build systems that help engineering teams securely run applications in their own cloud environments.

What You'll Do

• Establish the secure engineering function and guide security practices across the engineering team.
• Build and ship customer-facing security features for teams running applications on cloud infrastructure.
• Write production Go code to strengthen cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes clusters across customer environments.
• Own cloud and container security across IAM, network security, secret management, workload isolation, and security logging.
• Work directly with customer security engineers to understand requirements and help ensure infrastructure meets their security standards.

What We're Looking For

• At least 4 years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, including experience building infrastructure at a venture-backed infrastructure startup.
• Production software engineering experience, with proficiency in Go and experience writing software to manage infrastructure.
• Hands-on security experience across Kubernetes and multiple major cloud platforms, including AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Depth in areas such as IAM, security logging, secrets, network security, Helm, Terraform, or CI/CD.
• Application security experience, including authentication and authorization, vulnerability research, and secure development practices.
• Experience contributing to core infrastructure at a cloud platform company or in a high-engineering-bar environment.
• A bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent technical degree.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary is $220,000 to $320,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
