Job summary

Deccan AI is seeking a Founding Engineer - Robotics to help build the company’s robotics data and physical AI practice in the Bay Area. You will design scalable data systems, define metadata standards, and implement automated QC across egocentric video and multi-modal pipelines.

Ideal candidates combine robotics intuition with strong software engineering, CV/ML judgment, and experience delivering end-to-end data infrastructure in a startup environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building software, ML, or robotics data infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with computer vision, video data, robotics data, sensor data, teleoperation, or multimodal workflows.
• Strong programming ability in Python; experience with PyTorch, OpenCV, and data pipelines preferred.
• Ability to design data systems for robotics, video, multimodal workflows, and metadata handling.

Responsibilities

• Build systems for robotics data workflows: egocentric video, multi-camera capture, annotation, chunking, metadata, task definitions, and quality checks.
