Job summary

Macmillan Davies is partnering with a high-growth Series A startup in San Francisco to recruit a Founding Recruiter who will establish the in-house function from the ground up. You will own full-cycle hiring across technical and non-technical roles and partner directly with the CEO and leadership.

You will build the ATS and recruiting tech stack, define hiring requirements, and scale the team as hiring velocity grows from 15 to 40+ employees in the coming year.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years’ full-cycle recruiting experience.
• Startup experience across Series A–D environments.
• Proven ability to build recruiting processes from scratch.
• Excellent outbound sourcing skills.
• Comfortable using LinkedIn Recruiter, Juicebox and AI sourcing tools.
• Highly autonomous and comfortable operating in ambiguity.
• Strong communicator who can explain the why behind hiring decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree from a top 50 US university.

Responsibilities

• Full-cycle hiring across technical & non-technical roles.
• Outbound sourcing and passive candidate campaigns.
• Building the ATS and recruiting tech stack from scratch.
• Defining hiring requirements and calibrating profiles with leadership.
• Developing the processes needed to scale hiring effectively.
• Eventually building a small recruiting team as hiring volume increases.
