Surge is hiring a Founding Mobile Engineer to architect and build a high-performance crypto trading app from the ground up. You will own the mobile experience, from inception to trade confirmation, in a fast-moving, self-funded team.

As the first front-end engineer, you will define foundational architecture for the React Native app and ensure extreme performance, reliability, and rapid App Store deployment, supporting tens of thousands of users and hundreds of millions in daily volume.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in mobile engineering.
• Experience building production mobile apps.
• Strong experience with React Native and mobile app architecture.

Responsibilities

• Architect the entire React Native mobile app from zero.
• Build a best-in-class trading experience (spot + perps) optimized for speed and low latency.
• Ship the app from 0 to App Store on a rapid timeline.
• Ensure the app scales to handle 25–50K+ daily active users and $100M+ daily volume.
• Own production reliability end-to-end and automate release pipelines.
