Psychiatry in Motion in Brooklyn, NY seeks its founding psychiatric nurse practitioner. You will be supervised by a board-certified psychiatrist and gradually take on your own panel after a 90-day probation, with shadowing and joint intake during onboarding.

The role supports ADHD, autism, burnout, and diagnostics, with telehealth and hybrid days. W2, part-time to start, pay 70–100 USD/hr, with a path to full-time.

Psychiatry in Motion is hiring its founding psychiatric nurse practitioner in Brooklyn, New York. You will be supervised on every case by a board-certified psychiatrist, with weekly reserved supervision time and a daily morning huddle with the clinical and admin team.

You start by shadowing and doing joint intakes while your credentialing processes, then carry your own panel once you meet the standards, after a 90-day probationary period.

Schedule: never more than two to three hours of straight patient work without a break. Intakes get 60 minutes of contact time. Follow-ups are 30 minutes, with clinical work stopped at 25 minutes so the last five are for documentation. Admin time is protected on the calendar. Mornings or evenings, built around your preference. Hybrid, with telehealth and remote days by agreement.

Clinical focus: ADHD, autism, burnout and burnout recovery, and diagnostics. Serious mental illness supported on interest. Substance use treatment is not our focus; we screen at every visit and refer out.

Responsibilities: complete psychiatric evaluations with a documented formulation and plan; medication initiation, titration, tapering, monitoring and discontinuation; treatment planning with outcome measurement; risk and substance screening at every visit; refills, prior authorisations, laboratory orders and result follow-up; prescription monitoring programme checks and controlled-substance compliance; referrals out with the loop closed; coverage for colleagues; notes locked by the end of the next day; attendance at the daily huddle and weekly supervision.

Optional and yours to choose: create content alongside Dr. Al-Katib with the practice backing it financially and administratively; take trainees and mentor; write the workflows for your own seat.

Pay is 70 to 100 US dollars per hour. A probationary rate applies during the first 90 days, during part of which you are shadowing and training rather than billing; your ongoing rate is set on completion, based on experience. Structure is open: base, productivity share, or a combination.

We cover malpractice insurance for our W2 clinicians. The wider benefits package is being built as the practice fills and is not yet in place; we will tell you exactly what we can do today.

W2 employment, part-time to start with a path to full-time, 90-day probationary period, employment at will.
