Job summary

knownwell is seeking a Founding Physician to lead an inaugural Northern California site in the San Francisco Bay Area. This role blends clinical leadership with building a new practice, culminating in full-time clinical care as the clinic opens.

You will work with a team of clinicians, APCs, dietitians, nurses, and health coaches to deliver obesity-focused primary care in a weight-inclusive model, with remote start and eventual hybrid clinic operations.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Active CA medical license or willingness to obtain one.
• Board certification in Family Practice or Internal Medicine required or equivalent.
• DEA required with no restrictions and prescribing authority.
• BLS certification current.
• Minimum 2 years of ambulatory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Support phase 1 remote CIN participation and partnerships.
• Build and lead the inaugural San Francisco care team during Phase 2.
• Transition to full-time clinical practice in Phase 3, with in-person and remote care.
• Provide supervision and mentorship to APCs per CA requirements.
• Develop market partnerships and referral networks.
