EQ3 is building a new generation of modular power systems. We are seeking a hands-on mechanical engineer to own major systems from concept through fabrication, testing and commissioning.
You’ll work with a small core team, taking responsibility for mechanical architecture, CAD, thermal and structural analysis, prototyping, and system integration. Bay Area based with occasional travel to Reno/Carson City facilities, equity a meaningful part of the package.
We’re working with an early-stage power company developing a new generation of modular power systems designed to bring reliable electricity online much faster for industrial customers, AI infrastructure, hyperscalers and utilities.
The company has raised $25M in seed funding and is now building out its founding mechanical engineering team.
This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who wants genuine ownership of physical hardware and the chance to work across the full development cycle, from early concepts through fabrication, testing and commissioning.
You’ll take ownership of major mechanical systems and subsystems, working closely with the core engineering team to develop and bring the technology to life.
We’re looking for strong mechanical engineers who enjoy solving complex problems, working across disciplines and getting close to the hardware.
Relevant backgrounds could include:
Direct experience in the company’s specific technology is not essential. Strong engineers from adjacent industries with excellent mechanical fundamentals, hands‑on experience and broad ownership are encouraged to apply.
Bay Area preferred, with regular travel to the Reno / Carson City area and the company’s test facilities.
The role is suited to engineers based in the Bay Area who are comfortable travelling to Nevada around 1–2 times per month, depending on project and testing requirements.
The company offers a very competitive compensation package, alongside meaningful early‑stage equity.
For engineers joining at this stage, equity is a significant part of the opportunity and provides real ownership as the company develops.
You’ll be joining a small engineering team working on real hardware, with the opportunity to take ownership, influence the product and see your work move from design through build and testing.
It’s an opportunity to work close to the engineering, close to the hardware and play a meaningful role in building the company from an early stage.
