MLabs Ltd in San Francisco is seeking a highly hands-on Founding Mechanical Engineer to own the design, prototyping, and validation of core physical mechanisms. You will design precision assemblies, motion systems, and robotic handoffs for repeatable, high-cycle production.

This on-site role offers significant early-stage ownership, equity, and the chance to build a novel process-cell architecture from scratch.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with mechanisms, precision motion, tolerance stack-ups, and calibration.
• Proven ability to design, build and debug physical hardware in automated production/robotics.
• Willingness to work on-site six days a week in San Francisco.

Responsibilities

• Precision motion systems, frames, fixtures and mechanisms with tight tolerances.
• Board-handling systems and robotic handoffs, end effectors for secure positioning.
