MLabs Ltd in San Francisco seeks a founding mechanical engineer to own the design, prototyping, and validation of core mechanical systems for an automated process cell. You will be hands-on, taking complex problems from prototype to fully functioning automated systems on-site in San Francisco.

You will directly design precision assemblies, motion systems, fixtures, and robotic handoffs, collaborating with electrical and software teams in a high-ownership environment that rewards rapid bench

Formación

• Extensive hands-on experience designing and prototyping precision mechanical systems.
• Ability to validate mechanisms through bench testing and data-driven iteration.
• Strong collaboration with electrical and software teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Design and validate precision motion systems, frames, fixtures, and mechanisms.
• Build board-handling systems and robotic handoffs across stations.
• Develop feed, actuation, clamping, and via-forming mechanisms for automated production.
• Design mechanical interfaces and test fixtures for electrical probing and diagnostics.
• Prototype rapidly at the bench, measure data, and iterate until reliability is achieved.
• Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate subsystems while retaining ownership.
