Job summary

TypeSafe AI, a frontier model lab in San Francisco, is seeking a marketing leader to shape how we present our work to developers and enterprises. You’ll own strategy and hands-on execution, from positioning to copy, without a preset playbook.

You’ll build a narrative, launches, demand generation, and brand across our website and social channels, collaborating with researchers and engineers to translate cutting-edge AI into real-world value.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in high-performing teams in shifting environments.
• Exceptional writing with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly to engineers and researchers.
• Experience building a marketing function from zero at a startup.
• Fluent in the AI industry and able to credibly discuss models and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Shape narrative and content for the company blog, thought pieces, and AI perspectives.
• Define our category and translate technical capabilities into developer-friendly messaging.

About TypeSafe

TypeSafe is a frontier model lab. We build reliable and general AI systems to power economically valuable automation. Our mission is to usher in a new era of Transformative Artificial Intelligence (TAI): technology with the power to drive a societal shift on the scale of the agricultural and industrial revolutions.

While others chase benchmarks and academic puzzles, we've been quietly rethinking the LLM stack from first principles — building a new kind of general frontier model designed for real-world reliability, decision-making, and autonomy in production.

We're a small, fast-moving team from OpenAI, Google Brain, and Meta/FAIR, backed by top-tier investors. Since mid-2024, we've been engineering the foundation for what comes after the current "state-of-the-art" — a model that actually gets things done.

About the role

You'll own how TypeSafe shows up in the world, from the story we tell to how developers and enterprises discover, adopt, and champion what we build. There's no team to inherit and no playbook to run. You'll work at all altitudes — setting the high-level strategy and then doing the tactical work yourself, from positioning down to the copy.

What you'll own

• Narrative and content: shape the company blog, thought pieces, and our unique perspective on AI, and position our founders and researchers as leading voices

• Product marketing: define our category and translate deeply technical capabilities into messaging that developers resonate with

• Brand and channels: own our company brand, website, and social cadence across X and LinkedIn

• Launches and announcements: coordinate product releases and announcements from press to podcasts to events

• Demand generation: build developer and enterprise interest to build our pipeline

We are looking for people who

• Have built a marketing function from zero at a start-up and can both set strategy and execute it

• Are tactically broad — can own narrative, launches, demand, and growth experiments across channels from social to SEO to email

• Have 5+ years of professional expertise in high‑performing teams, including under shifting and ambiguous environments

• Write exceptionally well — clear, technical, and fast

• Have taste: know what's credible, what's hype, and what's premature

• Are fluent in the AI industry, leverage tools yourself, and can credibly talk models and APIs with our engineers and researchers

• Show complete ownership — think at the level of goals, not tasks or tickets

• Solve problems from both first‑principles reasoning and a reservoir of lived experience

• Care deeply about our mission and are driven to translate it into real‑world impact
