Job summary

Lightsage in San Francisco is hiring a founding Growth lead to build Lightsage’s growth engine from the ground up. This full-time, on-site role collaborates with the founders across brand, marketing, design, community, and growth strategy.

You will design campaigns, create product marketing pages, run outbound experiments, develop event materials, and translate customer results into compelling stories. You will own how Lightsage looks, sounds, and grows, shaping the company’s future.

Responsibilities

Lightsage helps software companies become the product AI agents discover, recommend, and use. We help teams measure and improve how coding agents interact with their APIs, CLIs, MCP servers, and documentation.

Our platform is used by enterprises and high-growth developer companies to improve agent discoverability and agent experience. We also created DevToolArena.com, a public benchmark that evaluates developer tools using agents such as Claude Code and Codex.

We are a small, fast-moving team building the category of agent-led growth.

Role Description

We are hiring a Founding Growth hire to build and execute Lightsage’s growth engine from the ground up. This is a full-time, on-site role in San Francisco.

You will work directly with the founders across brand, marketing, design, community, and growth strategy. Your goal is to help Lightsage become the company developer-tool and AI teams think of when they want to win with AI agents.

This is a highly hands-on role. One week, you may design and launch a campaign, create a product marketing page, or run a customer interview. The next, you may develop an outbound experiment, create event materials, turn a customer result into a case study, or analyze what is driving pipeline and activation.

You will have meaningful ownership over how Lightsage looks, sounds, and grows.

What You’ll Do

• Develop Lightsage’s growth strategy across product marketing, content, community, partnerships, events, and outbound.
• Create high-quality marketing and design assets, including landing pages, social content, event collateral, decks, one-pagers, product visuals, and customer stories.
• Own and run growth experiments across acquisition, activation, conversion, and retention.
• Turn customer conversations, product insights, and market trends into sharp positioning, campaigns, and content.
• Build repeatable systems for content production, distribution, lead generation, and campaign measurement.
• Help plan and execute developer and AI community events, partnerships, and launches.
• Work closely with founders, product, and engineering to improve messaging, onboarding, and go-to-market execution.
• Establish the early metrics, workflows, and playbooks that will become Lightsage’s growth function.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong taste in design, branding, and storytelling, with the ability to create polished work yourself.
• Experience in growth marketing, product marketing, brand, community, or a similar growth role at a startup.
• A strategic thinker who is equally comfortable executing quickly and independently.
• Strong written communication and an ability to make technical products feel clear, exciting, and relevant.
• Experience using data to evaluate marketing performance and prioritize experiments.
• Interest in AI, developer tools, APIs, or technical products. You do not need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable learning technical concepts.
• High ownership, resourcefulness, and comfort working in ambiguity.
• Prior experience at an early-stage startup, as a founder, or building something from zero is a strong plus.
• Willingness to work on-site in San Francisco, CA.
