Job summary

PakEnergy, LLC is seeking a Lead Applied AI Engineer to own generative AI and agentic systems for the Innovation Lab. You will design, build, and guide the GenAI architecture, setting direction with industry experts and reporting to the Chief Product Officer.

You’ll work hands-on on real data, drive prototypes to production, and shape the Lab's AI roadmap with a strong emphasis on responsible AI and cost-efficient execution.

Qualifications

• Experience building production software or ML systems.
• Led AI/ML projects with measurable impact.
• Strong background in retrieval-augmented generation and agents.

Responsibilities

• Architect GenAI features and guide the Lab's AI strategy.
• Frame problems with domain experts and design evaluation plans.
• Build and deploy retrieval-augmented generation & agentic systems.
• Ensure safety, guardrails, and cost management for production use.
• Collaborate with engineering to ship features and monitor performance.
• Mentor engineers and help shape the Lab's hiring plans.
• Define architecture standards and reusable AI components.
• Partner with data science and solution engineers on pilots.
