Job summary

Digital Waffle is building multimodal video intelligence systems from the ground up in Sunnyvale. You will own core backend services in Go/Python/C++, build real-time AI-enabled features, and craft user interfaces in TypeScript/React.

You’ll design APIs that tie ML pipelines to edge devices while ensuring distributed, reliable operation. The role blends system architecture with hands-on coding, requiring startup rigor, strong ownership, and a passion for practical AI in a hardware-aware world.

Qualifications

• Strong Go, Python or C++, plus real experience with modern frontend stacks.
• Comfort with distributed systems and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Startup or scale-up experience with end-to-end ownership.
• Fluency with AI-assisted development and solid architectural judgment.
• Able to work on-site in Sunnyvale.

Responsibilities

• Backend services ingesting, processing and serving video and sensor data at scale.
• AI-native features shipped end to end — NL search, real-time detections, agentic workflows.
• User-facing frontends in TypeScript and React, collaborating with product.
• APIs and systems interfacing with ML pipelines and edge devices.
• Distributed, real-time processing with high availability by design.
