Job summary

Openkrill, an early-stage AI-powered software company, seeks a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer in New York to implement the platform with customer operations teams, connect it to existing systems, and convert complex workflows into practical capabilities. You will drive onboarding and day-to-day usage while collaborating with customers to refine the product.

You will map workflows, configure solutions, and build integrations across EDI, ERP, inventory, accounting, and freight systems,

Qualifications

• 3+ years in forward deployed engineering or related customer-facing technical role.
• Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting integrations across EDI, ERP, inventory, accounting, and freight systems.
• Comfort with APIs, data models, SQL, and integration debugging; ability to read/write code when needed.
• Experience onboarding through discovery, integration, configuration, testing, and go-live, translating workflows into technical solutions.
• CPG, supply chain, logistics, or ERP experience is valuable; strong systems thinking and curiosity.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Join an early-stage team building AI-powered software for consumer goods operations. As a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer, you will work directly with customer operations teams to implement the platform, connect it to existing systems, and turn complex workflows into practical product capabilities. Your work will help customers move from initial onboarding to reliable day-to-day use.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Own customer onboarding from discovery and integration through configuration, testing, and go-live.
• Work with operators to map purchase-order-to-cash workflows, understand their requirements, and configure solutions to fit their operations.
• Build and troubleshoot integrations with EDI, ERP, inventory, accounting, and freight systems.
• Translate operational requirements into clear data models, configurations, and product capabilities.
• Share customer insights with the engineering team and help shape product improvements.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• At least 3 years of experience in forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, implementation engineering, technical onboarding, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Hands-on experience building and troubleshooting integrations across EDI, ERP, inventory, accounting, and freight systems.
• Comfort working with APIs, data models, SQL, and integration debugging, with the ability to read and write code when needed.
• Experience owning onboarding through discovery, integration, configuration, testing, and go-live, and translating operational workflows into technical solutions.
• CPG, supply chain, logistics, or ERP experience is valuable, along with strong systems thinking, curiosity, and comfort working through ambiguity.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Salary range: $0 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
