Sierra Studio is seeking a founding engineer to own the product’s technical foundation for a client company building real‑time software for consumer goods manufacturers. You will evolve a working v1 into production‑grade software, decide architecture, and shape engineering practices as the team grows.

You’ll ship end‑to‑end features using Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, WebSockets, and Next.js, build integrations with ERP systems, and contribute to AI features while maintaining tests,

Competenze

• 5+ years building production software.
• Experience shipping a product from 0 to 1, ideally as an early engineer at a startup.
• Fluent in Python and TypeScript, with experience using FastAPI (or similar) and React or Next.js.
• Well-versed in PostgreSQL, including schema design, query tuning and migrations.
• Integrations with external systems ensuring reliability: retries, idempotency, and sync.
• Able to make product and prioritization decisions and challenge ideas when needed.
• Commitment to tests, monitoring, and clean deploys as part of shipping.

• Own the codebase and architecture end to end, with a plan to keep, rebuild, and harden the v1.
• Ship full‑stack features across Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, WebSockets, and Next.js.
• Build integrations with ERP systems and third‑party tools to flow data into the product.
• Design and evolve the data model with reversible Alembic migrations.
• Build the real‑time layer to synchronize status, documents and messages across users.
• Own infrastructure, deployment and monitoring.
• Join design partner calls and influence product decisions.
• Help shape how AI appears in the product as we build it.
• Set the engineering bar and help hire the next engineers.
