Sierra Studio is seeking a founding engineer to own the product's technical foundation and build production-grade software that manufacturers rely on. You will shape architecture, scale, and the engineering team as the startup grows.

This is a hands-on, builder role: ship features, talk to users, and iterate with the founder daily. You will work remotely with a Brazil or US base, and occasional in-person sessions as needed.

Competenze

• 5+ years building production software with ownership of front-end and back-end systems
• Shipped a product from 0 to 1, ideally at a startup
• Fluent Python and TypeScript, with FastAPI and React/Next.js experience
• Proficient in PostgreSQL schema design, tuning, and migrations
• Experience integrating with external systems for reliable data sync
• Able to make product and prioritization decisions, not just follow specs
• Willing to push back on ideas and propose better options
• Treats tests, monitoring, and clean deployments as part of shipping, not extra work
• Uses AI tools regularly to accelerate development
• Clear written and verbal communication, hands-on with a founder

Mansioni

• Own codebase and architecture end-to-end, audit v1 and plan what to keep, rebuild, and harden
• Ship full-stack features with Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL, WebSockets, and Next.js
• Build integrations with ERP systems and third-party tools to prevent manual data entry
• Design and evolve the data model with clean Alembic migrations
• Develop the real-time layer so all users share the same status and messages
• Own infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring
• Participate in design partner calls and translate feedback into product decisions
• Help shape how AI appears in the product as we build it
• Set engineering bar and help hire future engineers
