Job summary

Unusual is seeking a Founding Engineer — Full Stack to help brands understand how LLMs talk about them and influence decisions. You’ll join a founding team building AI-powered brand intelligence at the intersection of AI research, product, and engineering.

Your work will shape how customers reason about AI capabilities and how we ship end-to-end features in a fast-paced startup environment. You will own problems end-to-end, maintain a close feedback loop with customers and the exec team, and

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience on engineering teams (2+ preferred).
• You are eager to adopt and adapt to new engineering tooling, including AI-powered coding tools.
• You have experience with working with customers directly.
• You are full-stack, comfortable working from customer-facing UI all the way down to infrastructure.

What Unusual is looking for

• US citizen/visa only
• Strong sense for product and design with ability to translate customer needs into features
• Comfortable with React, Python, Terraform, and AWS
• has a stint longer than 18 months in a great engineering environment (Scale-up or Startup)
• Experience building agentic systems
• Startup experience or self-driven personal projects demonstrating initiative
• Bonus: You have scientific research experience
