Opaxa is seeking a Founding Engineer (Forward Deployed) to join as the second engineer. You will own features from spec to production, work with the founder and sales/product teams, and help scale to multi-location operators.

Tech stack includes TypeScript/React, Python, Postgres, AWS, and AI tools. This is an early, high-intensity role with significant ownership and fast delivery timelines; US work authorization required.

Every business with many locations already has systems that record what happened yesterday. None of them tell the manager what to do today. Opaxa does. It reads the systems a business already runs, learns how that operation actually works, and puts the right decision in front of the right manager: how busy tomorrow will be, who to schedule, what to order, which invoice overcharged you. Then it tracks what each decision earned.

Our founder runs a restaurant company with more than 40 locations and over 750 employees. Opaxa was built inside it to solve its own problems, and it runs there every night. We're well funded and now expanding to other multi-location operators: restaurant groups, stadiums and campuses, hotels, retail. You'd be the second engineer, working with our founding engineer, who owns the architecture, and with the sales and product team. You'd take new features from spec to production, spend real time with the managers who use them, and turn what they tell you into shipped changes within days. As we bring on new clients, you'd lead getting them live. TypeScript/React, Python, Postgres, AWS, and AI tools every day. This is an early, high-intensity role for someone who wants a lot of ownership and to move fast. US work authorization required. No agencies or contract firms.
