Job summary

Accrescent Group in San Francisco is seeking a Founding ML/AI Engineer with 2–5 years of production software experience and strong applied machine learning expertise to own the intelligence layer of our recruiting marketplace. You will ship end-to-end ML systems, build recommendation and ranking components, and leverage LLM-powered matching to improve candidate-role alignment.

Proficiency in TypeScript or Python and hands-on experience with production ML are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years shipping production software, with real applied ML depth.
• You've put models in front of users, not just in notebooks.
• Hands-on experience with recommender systems, ranking, or ML-powered matching.
• Strong in TypeScript or Python.
• Production experience with LLM APIs.
• Strong CS fundamentals and a track record in fast, unstructured environments.
• Something outstanding on your profile: a top program, a strong GitHub, projects you're proud of.
• Nice to have: React, Supabase, Prisma, Typesense, trigger.dev, embeddings and vector search.

Responsibilities

We're seeking a Founding Engineer (AI/ML) with 2–5 years of production software engineering experience and strong applied machine learning expertise. This engineer will own the intelligence layer of client recruiting marketplace, building recommendation systems, ranking algorithms, retrieval capabilities, and LLM-powered matching solutions that improve candidate-role alignment. The ideal candidate has personally shipped production ML systems, writes strong TypeScript or Python, and thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on founding-engineer environment.

This is the core of how the product works, and it's yours to build.
