Fig is hiring its founding engineer in San Francisco with hybrid work arrangements. The role focuses on building a platform that unifies fragmented food‑industry data and adds an AI layer atop it. The stack includes Kotlin, React, TypeScript, GCP, Postgres, and Terraform.
You will work directly with the founders, taking ownership to shape the product and roadmap for a platform that bridges growers, processors, and brands.
Fig is hiring its founding engineer.
Fig builds software for industrial ingredient processors, the companies between farmers and the food brands you buy. Most of them still run on paper binders: production schedules, sanitation checks, quality logs. Tech has mostly ignored them. This is a high-ownership seat. You'll work directly with the founders, who come from food, to build a platform that pulls together fragmented food‑industry data, then the AI layer on top of it. Think Glean for the food industry. Customers who signed on as design partners a year ago are still here and still shape the roadmap.
