Job summary

True Talent Solutions Partners seeks an early-stage software engineer to join a small team building AI products for commercial real estate in New York. You will work closely with technical leadership to turn customer problems into production features for portfolio research and operational workflows.

As the first dedicated engineer, you will own backend systems in Python, with experience in TypeScript, React, and AWS, and design LLM agents, tool-calling, and multi-step AI pipelines.

Qualifications

About the Role

Join a small engineering team building AI products for commercial real estate. As the first dedicated engineering hire, you will work closely with technical leadership and domain experts to turn customer problems into production features for portfolio research and operational workflows.

What You'll Do

• Build and own a portfolio research and chat experience that helps users query complex data, generate work products, and run multi-step analysis.

• Design and ship agentic workflows, including structured extraction, tool-calling systems, and reliable multi-step AI pipelines.

• Develop the systems that make LLM features production-ready, including evaluations, observability, context construction, structured outputs, failure handling, and monitoring.

• Work with customers and internal experts to identify automation opportunities and deliver features from initial idea through production.

• Take independent ownership of a platform area, communicating proactively and asking the right questions to deliver effective solutions.

What We're Looking For

• One to three years of experience as a software engineer, founding engineer, or founding AI engineer, with a four-year degree.

• Strong backend engineering skills in Python, plus experience with TypeScript, React, and AWS.

• Hands-on experience building LLM agents, tool-calling systems, multi-step AI workflows, and reliable agent architectures, including context management and nondeterminism.

• Understanding of retrieval-augmented generation and experience designing relational data models for complex, hierarchical information.

• Experience building B2B AI products, document processing systems at scale, or production software in a high-stakes B2B environment.

• Ability to own platform features end-to-end in a fast-moving environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Compensation is $165,000 to $185,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.
