Job summary

Strata Robotics Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a Founding Electrical Engineer to own the electrical system development. This role covers end-to-end design and integration of high-voltage power systems, power distribution, high-torque motors, and complex sensor suites for rugged construction robots.

You will set standards, processes, and engineering culture, partnering with mechanical, firmware, and autonomy teams to meet demanding requirements and deliver deployment-ready, safe systems.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years hardware experience.
• Demonstrated technical leadership and ownership on projects.
• PCB design expertise; Proficient in Altium Designer.
• Experience with reliability and safety-critical environments.
• Experience with power systems (DC/DC, DC/AC) and embedded design.
• Proficient in Ethernet, CAN, UART, SPI communications.
• Lab experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Own the full PCB development lifecycle including schematics and layout.
• Debug hardware and firmware across multi-board systems.
• Create and execute rigorous board/system test plans.
• Define interfaces with mechanical, firmware, and autonomy teams.
• Deliver a deployment-ready, high-safety electrical system.
